Narcot Lane

A village within a village where local people and nature are prioritised.

A socially responsible development of 25 homes, helping local people and families own homes where they really want to live. The scheme seeks to create flexible and adaptable modern living.

Designed by Waugh Thistleton Architects with a connection to nature at its core. A village within a village, where The Square and Discovery Garden provide an engaging green space for young and old to come together, experiencing the joys of wildlife at the heart of where they live. People and nature are prioritised over cars, all combining to create the future of green belt development.

The site is located in the green belt which creates a significant challenge to justify Very Special Circumstances. To contribute to this debate, the scheme has a fresh approach, with house modules that support off-site manufacturing, high sustainability credentials and a balance with openness and nature. This philosophy starts to re-define the quality of small residential in-fill sites.
